SegMaster Tutorials

Soon after I started woodturning, there was a symposium in my area. A friend and I decided to attend. It was great. The presenters really knew their stuff. We learned a tremendous amount and got some great ideas. On the other hand, as I started doing some segmenting myself, I came up with solutions that solved some of the problems we saw at the symposium. I also recall my high school geometry and I use it. Measuring precise angles was a problem among the experts. For example, I developed a technique that measures any angle to 1/100 of a degree using a couple of $3 yard (well, meter) sticks. I also developed some additional techniques that were easier for me.

Does that mean I think I am some sort of expert? Heavens NO!. But it is because I am not an expert that some other non-experts might benefit from some of my techniques. The experts have the best tools and benefit from years of experience. Not all of us do. For example, they all have drum sanders and I do not.

So I started writing about what I have learned. I decided to post these as a series of tutorials. Here they are:
